Right, I’ve been thinking. It’s time to open this blog up to the noble blogophere tradition that is Guest Posting. Here’s the deal; you suggest a topic, or write a post, send it in, I approve it (pretty much guarenteed, unless it borders on illegallity), then I post it.
You can write under either a your real name, a pen name, or a really witty or comical pseudonym. I’m not fussed about size so long as it’s sensible and appropriate – preferably include or suggest some pictures to break up blocks of pure text. Suggestions for contribution posts can be written in the comments section below, or full prospective blog drafts sent to my email (comradechrisnash@gmail.com). I may not check that very often, so leave a note below also. Simple as.
I see several benefits of guest posts. 1) More free content for me (I won’t be paying for it, obviously, not unless I ever get real money through from this thing). 2) A chance to broaden the range of topics on this blog with specialist knowledge or personal experiences. 3) A variety of writing styles for my much appreciated viewers. 4) For those without the time or motivation for maintaining a blog of their own, I offer a chance to vent their ranting talent, flex their wannabe journo muscles and dip their cautious toes in the sometimes intimidating blogosphere. 5) For those with existing blogs, a chance for mutual advertisment. 6) I can be a pretty opinionated bastard; balance and conflicting opinion could be a good thing. 7) Many other reasons too numerous to name or fabricate.
I shall periodically update this page with posts I’d be interested in seeing, probably on a weekly-ish whenever I feel like it basis. Let me know if you fancy anything, ‘cos I may get bored and trot something out myself, whilst your superior piece lies unloved in an inbox.
Things what I currently fancy:
- Illustrations - my handdrawn output generally consists of woodland and aquatic denizens, often engaged in implausible anthropomorphic persuits. Plus the occasional vomiting cat or lesbian. I like webcomics, and satire, or just amusing original content. I’d put some of my own up, but it would mean frequently abusing the UoA scanner.
- Policy - We’re the “New Generation” right? So lets start kicking out some innovative and progressive policy ideas. Opposition is about more than opposing, its about proposing better alternatives. We can shake of some of the woeful failures and missing opportunities of the past 13 years so that when we’re next in power we can hit the ground running with genuinely left-wing policies.
- Economics – for too long the Left have meekly conceded the ground of serious economic comment to the Right. Prefering to retreat to our comfort zone of social policy. In 2015 we need to beat the Tories both on social policy arguments AND on economic policy arguments; so lets start getting the discussions going
Plus absolutely anything else.
